Wingate Baptist Church

Special Services

Easter Egg Hunt - Each year the children of WBC gather for an Easter Egg Hunt.  Children 0-fifth grade hunt eggs, enjoy refreshments and hear the Easter story in an age appropriate way.  Plan to join us!

Vacation Bible School - The highlight of the summer for our children is a week long Vacation Bible School.  Children 4 years through the fifth grade meet for five nights to enjoy games, crafts and Bible stories.  This is always a time of having fun while learning about the Bible and Missions.

Christmas Children's Program
- Each year the children of Wingate Baptist Church work diligently to offer a dramatic Christmas message for the church family.  This play has taken many forms but is filled with love for the Christ child.

Fall Festival - What better time to start fall then with a festival of fun activities with friends?  The festival includes games, a cake walk, Bingo, and LOTS of food.  It is a wonderful time filled with laughter and play.

Spring Fling - After a cold, snowy winter, we find ourselves ready to “fling” into spring and the best way to do it is with friends outdoors.  We grill hotdogs, play games, and enjoy conversations with friends.  There is no better medicine for the “winter blues” than the smells of spring and the laughter of children and friends.

Wingate Baptist Pre-School Graduation - This takes place during a worship service in June where we take the opportunity to recognize our children that have completed their years as pre-schoolers in Wingate Baptist Daycare and are on their way to kindergarten.

Ash Wednesday - Our forty-day Lenten journey begins with a solemn service reminding worshipers of the gospel against the backdrop of human mortality and sin.

Maundy Thursday - On Thursday of Holy Week we meet for communion remembering our Lord's last supper and the command that we love one another.

Sunrise Service - On Easter Sunday the congregation invites the community to join in an outdoor celebration of Christ's resurrection followed by a shared breakfast in the church fellowship hall.

Christmas Eve Communion - Against the backdrop of a candle-lighted sanctuary families are invited to meditate on the gift of Jesus' birth and receive communion from the Pastor.
