Special Services

Vacation Bible School - One of the highlights of the summer for our church family is Summer Bible Adventures, otherwise known as Vacation Bible School. All generations are welcome to participate, i.e. preschoolers, children, youth, adults, and senior adults. The theme for 2019 is To Mars and Beyond. The dates are Monday, July 8, Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Contact Sam Oakley for more information.

Season of Advent - The four Sundays before Christmas is always a special time at Wingate Baptist Church. One of the Sundays we  enjoy special music from our Sanctuary Choir as they present a number of seasonal anthems in worship. Also we compile an Advent Devotional Guide, an in-house publication that features the written thoughts of all ages of members of our church family, and make it available to all who desire seasonal inspiration.
Annual Fall Festival - What better time to start fall than with a festival of fun activities with friends? The festival includes games, a cake walk, Bingo, and LOTS of food. It is a wonderful time filled with laughter and play.

Spring Fling - After a cold, snowy winter, we find ourselves ready to “fling” into spring and the best way to do it is with friends outdoors.  We grill hotdogs, play games, and enjoy conversations with friends. There is no better medicine for the “winter blues” than the smells of spring and the laughter of children and friends.

Ash Wednesday - Our forty-day Lenten journey begins with a solemn service reminding worshipers of the Gospel against the backdrop of human mortality and sin.

Maundy Thursday - On Thursday of Holy Week, we meet for Communion, remembering our Lord's last supper and the command that we love one another.
Sunrise Service - On Easter Sunday, the congregation invites the community to join in an outdoor celebration of Christ's resurrection followed by a shared breakfast in the church Fellowship Hall.
Christmas Eve Communion - Against the backdrop of a candle-lighted Sanctuary, families are invited to meditate on the gift of Jesus' birth and receive Communion from our ministers.
